Going Global

As American companies continue to expand their international markets, your unique insight, experience, and interest in international affairs, events, culture, and politics enhance your application to the global workplace.

Hegi Career Center counselor Judy Carr outlines below how to add global appeal to your résumé: Add a new category, "International Experience," just below "Education" in the top half.

In this new category, you might include and briefly describe the following:

If you are studying abroad now or anticipate going next semester, pack your power suit and résumé. Research, identify, and call on American or host-country companies in the area. Find out how they do business, develop and market products and services, and identify emerging trends. Establish an international network. Pave the way for your return as an employee with a multinational organization.

Good luck!
