Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Montana to Speak at SMU Athletic Forum Luncheon
DALLAS, TEXAS – The SMU Athletic Forum welcomes the Pro Football Hall of Famer and 4 time Super Bowl champion, Joe Montana to Dallas on Wednesday, September 23, for an Athletic Forum Luncheon sponsored by AT&T. The luncheon will begin at noon in the Khmer Pavilion of the Hilton Anatole. Media availability begins at 10:45 a.m. in the Cooper Room of The Anatole. Montana won more than 70 percent of his starts during his career and is the all-time NFL Leader in quarterback rating (93.4) and is known as one of the toughest quarterbacks ever to play the game. His trademark unflappable poise in the clutch earned him the nickname “Joe Cool”. Montana enjoyed an illustrious 16-year career with the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs. He was twice named the NFL's Most Valuable Player, earned three Super Bowl Most Valuable Player awards, was selected to eight Pro Bowls and named All-Pro five times. Montana retired from professional football in 1995 and in recognition of his achievements he was inducted in to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000.
## Honoring the legends of sports for 20 years, the SMU Athletic Forum celebrates outstanding success in athletics. Based in Dallas, the series features major figures from a variety of sports. The Guaranty Bank SMU Athletic Forum includes four luncheons and the prestigious Doak Walker Award Presentation Banquet.
