SPONSOR OF THE SMU ATHLETIC FORUM

DALLAS, TEXAS -

The SMU Athletic Forum Board of Directors and Guaranty Bank announced today a three-year agreement giving the Texas-based financial institution exclusive naming rights of the SMU Athletic Forum.

Honoring the legends of sports for 17 years, the Guaranty Bank SMU Athletic Forum celebrates outstanding success in athletics. Based in Dallas , the series features major figures from a variety of sports. The Guaranty Bank SMU Athletic Forum includes four luncheons and the prestigious Doak Walker Award Presentation Banquet.

The 2006 series gets underway on Monday, February 27, withthe 16 th Annual Doak Walker Award Presentation Banquet. The Award is presented annually to the nation’s leading college running back. ESPN’s College GameDay hosts, Lee Corso, Chris Fowler, and Kirk Herbstreit, will serve as keynote speakers at the event.

Rick Reilly, senior writer at Sports Illustrated, will speak on Tuesday March 14. Reilly has been named National Sportswriter of the Year 10 times. The all-time winningest coach in NCAA basketball history, Pat Summit will appear on Tuesday, April 18. Summit has been the head basketball coach of the University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers for over 30 years and has won six national championships. Recent Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Steve Young will be the featured guest on Wednesday, September 20. Young, the two-time NFL MVP quarterback with the San Francisco 49ers, is currently a studio analyst for the NFL on ESPN. The 2006 Forum concludeson Thursday, November 2, with Roger Clemens,perennial all-starpitcher for the Houston Astros. Clemens is a seven-time winner of the Cy Young Award.
