The 2004-2005 ADC season opens with one of J. S. Bach's greatest sacred choral works: his magnificent setting of the Latin Magnificat, paired with the Magnificat by Antonio Vivaldi, the composer who most influenced him. Magnificent music in the acoustical splendor of Cathedral Guadalupe, the High-Victorian Gothic architectural masterpiece which the Dallas Morning News calls “the premier venue in Dallas for choral music”.

Lyric Stage presents a special holiday treat – Alan Menken and Tim Rice’s biblical oratorio King David. This will be the first production of King David since its premiere as the inaugural event of Disney’s New Amsterdam Theater on Broadway. King David’s score is by the composer of The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Little Shop of Horrors. Lyrics are by the lyricist of Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Evita.
