2012 History Makers

The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest and most prestigious award the University can bestow upon its alumni. The award is presented to an alumnus or alumna of SMU who has demonstrated a record of distinguished service and extraordinary achievement in a particular discipline, organization, or cause that brings distinction to the University. The Emerging Leader Award recognizes an outstanding SMU alumnus or alumna who has graduated within the last fifteen years.

During SMU's Second Century Celebration, we will also honor past recipients with the Centennial History Maker Award. This award allows us to reflect upon those alumni whose distinguished service and accomplishments have become icons of SMU’s first century.
