Join us in Perkins Chapel for a service celebrating the lives of classmates we have lost since graduation.
10:45 a.m. – 5 p.m. Reunion Check-in, Registration and Tour Departure Location
Please register your attendance before 5 p.m. at the Loyd All-Sports Center lobby. Complimentary parking is available in the Meadows Museum parking garage. Please use the entrance gate to the left.
All tours depart from this location.
11:30 a.m. Dedman Center for Lifetime Sports Tour
Visit the award-winning campus recreation center complete with climbing wall, fitness center, swimming pools and more. Dedman Center is the future site of the Mustang Band Hall.
12:15 p.m. Complimentary Light Lunch
1 p.m. Central University Libraries Tour
Witness where past, present and future collide inside the largest division of the SMU library system. Visit with the Dean of SMU’s Central University Libraries as she shows you how SMU is creating a library for the 21st century.
1:45 p.m. Caruth Hall Tour
Tour the new 64,000-square-foot Caruth Hall in the Lyle School of Engineering that brings together a broad range of programs, institutes and initiatives and provides a unique environment for advanced teaching and learning.
2:30 p.m. Campus Bus Tour
Ride down memory lane on a guided bus tour showcasing campus landmarks and new additions. While on the tour, get an in-depth look inside SMU’s new Centennial Hall, an interactive exhibit showcasing SMU’s 100-year history.
3:45 p.m. Meadows Museum Tour
Participate in the docent-guided tour of the museum’s fabulous permanent collection of Spanish masterpieces and the exhibit “The Invention of Glory: Afonso V and the Pastrana Tapestries.”
4:30 p.m. Presidential Welcome
Join your classmates for a special welcome by President R. Gerald Turner inside Jones Hall at the Meadows Museum.
5 p.m. Welcome Reception
Celebrate your Mustang memories at the official welcome reception in Heritage Hall, a museum showcasing the rich tradition of SMU Athletics, inside Loyd All-Sports Center.
Saturday, May 12 (Business casual attire for Saturday’s events)
8:30 a.m. Commencement Check-in and Regalia Distribution
To participate in SMU’s Commencement ceremony, please park at 6200 N. Central Expressway between 8:30 – 9 a.m. A complimentary shuttle will transport you and your guests to and from the event.
9:30 a.m. The 97th Annual SMU Commencement Ceremony
The must-attend 50-year reunion tradition. Celebrate with SMU’s Class of 2012 as your class is recognized by the entire University community in this official ceremony in Moody Coliseum. Golden Mustang medallions will be provided to attendees. Seating is available for spouses and guests.
12:30 p.m. Celebrate ’62 Class Luncheon
Feast on lunch at the newly renovated Dallas Country Club. Special Golden Mustang pins are presented at this event to symbolize your induction into this esteemed group celebrating more than 50 years as alumni.
7 p.m. Class of ’62 Reunion Dinner and Dance
The weekend culminates with this memorable party at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. Complimentary valet parking. Entertainment. Dinner Buffet. Business casual attire, tie optional.
