The SeRVe (Student Recruitment Volunteer) program allows alumni to aid in the University’s recruitment efforts in their local areas. These alumni volunteers represent SMU at local college fairs, correspond with prospective and admitted students, and attend parties for prospective and admitted students. Share your experiences and encourage future Mustangs in your city to apply and attend SMU. To confirm your membership in SeRVe, simply fill out the online volunteer agreement form and choose “SeRVe” as your program of interest.


  • Attend Events: Attend a Preview Party or Accepted Student Reception or recruitment reception, hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Admission in your city or on campus
  • Represent SMU: Represent SMU at a local college fair for prospective students
  • Contact Admitted Students: Correspond with admitted students in your area to encourage enrollment

Time commitment

Time commitments vary according to the opportunity. Late summer and spring is when you will have the opportunity to participate in admission events and spring is when you will communicate with admitted students. College Fair coverage is needed throughout the year.
