Alumni Student Recruitment

Attend Previews hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Admission in select cities all over the country. Past Preview cities include: Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Denver, Phoenix, Nashville, Memphis, St. Louis, New Orleans, Atlanta, Chicago, Stamford, San Francisco, Newport Beach, Los Angeles and San Diego. Previews are designed for high school juniors, seniors and their families to learn about what SMU has to offer. These events kick-off the college recruiting season.
Represent SMU at College Nights in your area. The Office of Undergraduate Admission is unable to make it to every college fair, but alumni can help further our reach by attending fairs on our behalf.
Communicate with accepted students in the spring. This could include calls and emails to accepted students from your area. We encourage alumni to reach out to these students and mentor them as they make their final college decision.
Attend accepted student receptions in key cities. These programs are designed for students and families to meet others in their area as well as get any last minute questions answered before making their college decision. Alumni play a key role in this event by talking with students and families about their SMU experience.
