Many students with classroom accommodations will need to schedule their tests to be proctored by their professor. This is ideal in that the student can ask questions of the professor and receive a similar experience as other students taking the same test. In the event that an arrangement cannot be worked out between the student and the professor, some students will need to have their tests proctored within the DASS office. There is a process to arrange a proctored test with DASS and students must contact the office ahead of time with details of their test, as well as confirmation that their professor has agreed to this arrangement. The DASS administrative assistant will coordinate the schedule with the student, schedule the hiredproctor, and communicate with the professor in order to receive the test. Students are given explicit instructions and expectations on this process during their intake session with a DASS Accommodations Coordinator. DASS also expects each professor to complete a Test Proctor Form along with submitting the test for administering in order to ensure a smooth testing process for students. DASS does have limitations, such as not administering tests on Blackboard or other computer-software programs, not administering ARHS and other exams that require a computer or projector for administration, and we have limited hours for testing (M-F, 9a-5p).
