Students with classroom accommodations ideally will schedule their tests to be proctored by their professor. This gives the student a similar experience as other students taking the test in the classroom as they can ask questions of the professor for clarification.
If an arrangement cannot be worked out between the student and the professor, students will need to schedule their tests with the DASS office at least 7 days in advance. Beginning the Fall 2013 semester, DASS has a new Online Scheduler (OS) system for students to utilize. Although the new online system (OS) streamlines the actual scheduling process of the test, the student should still follow procedures to arrange an exam at DASS. It is the student’s responsibility to meet with his/her professor to get permission to take a test at DASS. That agreement should be made well before the test date. Students are given explicit instructions and expectations on this process during their intake session with a DASS Coordinator.
The DASS administrative assistant will manage the scheduling of proctors, and communicating with the professor in order to receive the proctored test for the student. The professor will receive a request for the test from the DASS office. A Test Proctor Form will be with each test request and the professor should complete the form and return with instructions on administering the exam.
DASS cannot administer tests on Blackboard or using other computer software programs, ARHS and other exams that require a computer or projector. The DASS hours for testing are M-F 9am-5pm. For questions, please call 214-768-1470.
