Fitness that’s fun
Want to exercise your body as well as your brain? At the
Dedman
Center for Lifetime Sports, you can play basketball, volleyball,
badminton, racquetball, and handball. Work those muscles with free-weight
and strength-training equipment. Or go aerobic in a bench class,
kickboxing, or the machines – everything from StairMasters to LifeCycles.
Tennis courts, indoor/outdoor pools, and tracks give you more
exercise options.
Sports Clubs mean fun and fitness. Some clubs have tryouts,
but most don’t require experience. Clubs include: badminton,
baseball, cycling, ice hockey, martial arts, crew, soccer, cricket,
sailing, squash, table tennis, tennis, triathlon, wakeboarding, and
men’s and women’s lacrosse and volleyball.
Intramural Sports promote individual development through
recreational, competitive, and instructional sports opportunities
for SMU students of all skill levels. From basketball to volleyball,
there's something for everyone.
SMU's Wellness Program takes a holistic approach to fitness,
looking at how your lifestyle, attitudes, and social interaction
affect your health. This required program includes fitness evaluation,
exercise instruction, and nutritional counseling.
