SMU President R. Gerald Turner has confirmed that Dallas business
leader and SMU trustee Ray L. Hunt and his wife, Nancy Ann, have made a
$35
million commitment to SMU, the largest single gift in the University’s
history, just topping the recent $33 million record donation given to the
University by The Meadows Foundation this spring.

American Football Coaches Association recently
honored SMU with
the 2006
Academic
Achievement Award for having the nation's highest graduation rate
among its football team members. Three of SMU's 17 NCAA Division I-A
athletic teams finished in the top 25 nationally in 2005-06: men's soccer,
and both men's and women's swimming and diving.

students, one faculty member and one community member to visit Rwanda,
Africa. This trip was not one meant for vacation. They visited the reality
