Home School and Non-Traditional First Year Applicants

Students from diverse educational backgrounds are welcomed and encouraged to apply for admission to SMU.  Students who have been home schooled or who have been enrolled in non-traditional high school settings are finding success on SMU’s campus.  SMU appreciates that home schooling is a growing and successful alternative to traditional schooling.

Please refer to the Home School Application Checklist as a guide to SMU’s application process and please submit the Home School Application Supplement along with your application for admission. All students who have been home schooled at any point during their high school years must submit this supplement.  This includes students who are enrolled in accredited home school programs and correspondence high school programs.
