Lori Atkinson was born and raised in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She decided to stay on the east coast for college and attended the College of Charleston where she graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate Communication. As a very involved undergraduate student, she participated in a sorority, gave campus tours, performed in a dance ensemble, and belonged to several communication organizations and honors associations.

Upon graduation, Lori began working for the Admission Office at College of Charleston to share her experiences and enthusiasm with prospective students and families. After two years of recruiting for C of C, she decided to relocate to Dallas and is very excited about the opportunity to work for Southern Methodist University.
