Dig deeper at SMU-in-Taos
Nestled in the breathtaking mountains of northern New Mexico is
the Fort Burgwin Research Center – the site of SMU-in-Taos, which
includes a 13th-century Indian pueblo that's being excavated by
SMU archaeology students.
Students in Taos live where they study. Field trips to a local
pueblo and nature walks are just some of the ways to take advantage
of the unique surroundings at SMU-in-Taos.
This living laboratory is paradise for students interested in anthropology,
botany, geology, and other sciences. Courses in the humanities and
the arts enable students to explore history, culture, music, theatre,
and creative writing in the most scenic of settings rich in cultural
diversity.
