Whether you know what you want to study or you’re undecided and ready to explore, SMU has the majors to meet your needs. SMU offers a variety of traditional majors, as well as majors in new and emerging interdisciplinary fields. At SMU, we look for ways to refine and expand our offerings to keep up with competitive demand, the global economy and the desire to know more about our world and ourselves. This commitment helps us prepare students for fulfilling, challenging and productive lives as professionals, citizens and leaders.

From international studies to environmental engineering, electronic media to organizational behavior and business policy, you’ll find your passion in one of our four undergraduate schools: Dedman College, the School of Engineering, Meadows School of the Arts and the Cox School of Business.

Because no subject is an island, we start with a strong foundation in the humanities and sciences and then immerse students in the fields of their choice, including opportunities for research, internships and study abroad. With careful planning, you can pursue a double major or a dual degree, depending on your course of study.
