ACS: Multimedia & Web Development
ACS can help faculty develop CD-ROMs, DVDs, PowerPoint presentations, HTML pages, and many other types of computer-based instructional material.
In addition to our full-time multimedia specialists, we host the nationally
recognized STAR program which provides faculty at no charge with technology-proficient
undergraduate students to assist on “short-term” instructional
technology projects. For over six years the SMU STAR Program has helped faculty
on hundreds of projects. Request a STAR by going to http://stars.smu.edu.
Faculty are encouraged to contact us for help with:
- Developing course-related Web pages
- Formatting class notes for publishing on the Web
- Setting up a grade book in Microsoft Excel
- Creating animations for a course Web page
- Digitizing slides and graphics for a course
- Converting audio and video recordings for use on the Web
You can see examples of faculty projects here as well as on the STAR web site.
