The Academic Computing computer classrooms are for the SMU community: faculty, staff, or students. A valid SMU ID is needed to log onto the PCs in the classrooms. The classrooms consist of both Apple and Windows computers with a variety of programs and equipment from word processing to graphic and video editing. (Hardware & Software)
Academic Computing Services offices and classrooms are located on the first floor of Fondren Library West. (Map)
The staff will try to help you with your problems, but due to the diversity of programs on the lab machines, expertise in every program is not expected of the staff.
When there are classes scheduled in the computer classrooms they are closed as open labs, but schedules of planned closings are posted outside each of the labs for the week. Additional computers may be found in Fondren Library East or in one of these locations:
Hughes-Trigg Student Center **Cyber Cafe** - open 24 hours
Business Information Center - 70+ iMacs that run both Microsoft Windows and Mac operating systems
If you have any questions concerning the computer classrooms, please call the ACS Office 8-2343.
