Academic Computing Services has moved to the first floor of Fondren Library West. (map)
ACS is a division of Budget and Information Technology Services (BITS). We are the campus-wide resource for information and assistance regarding instructional technology. ACS focuses it's areas of expertise into five departments:
Find
out about Atomic Learning offered by ACS.
- Classroom Technology Support
Provides support for more than 100 technology-equipped classrooms on campus, provides design, engineering, and project management for instructional technology implementation initiatives, and supports video conferencing services across campus. - Course Management Systems
Responsible for Blackboard and WebCT course management systems. - Multimedia & Web Development
Helps faculty develop web pages, CD-ROMs and other instructional material. Manages STAR faculty assistance program. - Professional Development
Offers software training for faculty and staff. Manages Student Web Assistants program. -
Statistical
and Research Support
Provides statistical consulting support to the SMU academic and administrative community. Also assists with statistical and mathematical software functionality and acquisition for centrally funded software.
Academic Computing is located in the Fondren Library West, offices 100A through 101C. (maps/directions).
