Interested in applying to be on the VPSA Student Advisory Board?
Students interested in applying for a board appointment must be in good academic standing with the university (CUME GPA of 3.000 or higher) as well as be in good student conduct standing (no current or prior conduct record of Probation or higher).
Membership Expectations
- You will have one (1) mandatory one-on-one meeting with the Executive Director for Student Development and Engagement.
- It is mandatory that you are available to attend meetings on Mondays from 12-1:30 PM. If you are unable to meet during this time then you are not eligible to serve as a general member on the VPSA SAB. These dates are 9/9/24, 10/7/2024, 11/4/2024, 12/2/2024, 2/3/2025, 3/3/2025, 4/7/2024, and 5/5/2024.
- You will be asked to bring topics to the group that is pertinent to SMU students for announcement and discussion.
- If you are seeking to fulfill your CIE proficiency through involvement in the VPSA Student Advisory Board, you will need to meet additional requirements for contact hours and participation reflection and documentation. Learn more on the Office of General Education website and/or at Board orientation once you are selected to join.

Interviews will be held the week of April 1-5, 2024. If you progress in the process you will be contacted to sign-up for an interview time.
